iii.Questions
Good to know.
When are the deadlines?
Most personal returns are due 30 April. Self-employed individuals file by 15 June, but any balance owing is still due 30 April. Corporate T2 returns are due six months after year end, and any balance is usually due two or three months after year end. Slips are due by the end of February.
Can you do both my personal and corporate returns?
Yes, and it's often better that way. Owner pay, dividends and shareholder loans affect both, so planning them together avoids surprises.
What is a compilation engagement?
Financial statements I prepare from your records without auditing or reviewing them. They're what most owner-managed companies, banks and CRA need.
Can you file previous years or take over from my current accountant?
Yes. Catch-up returns are quoted separately, and with your permission I request last year's files so nothing is lost in the change.
